Speaking with an Executive Director I collaborate with, she felt overwhelmed by the need to constantly monitor every department to ensure progress. She has taken the entire organization's burden on herself. After listening for a few minutes, I felt moved to remind her that she isn't the only one committed to the organization's mission. Most in her organization are passionate about their work. Some members even possess greater expertise in specific areas than she does. The key is to amplify their voices and trust in their shared desire for the organization's success.
